Since as human beings each of us have quirks and/or flaws and have history, is it little wonder that few people, certainly those who can get a job without having to be a politician , want to be an MP.

I’m neither disappointed nor surprised. Politicians in the main are hypocrites. Even the ones who don’t think they are. Wait long enough for the hypocrisy bus to trundle on, and if it serves them they will jump on it.

I think we should hold public servants to a higher standard but to be hypocritical is to be human and to expect perfection is asking to be disappointed. Having said that, there are of course some truly dreadful MPs...
