Wow! I am proud of myself when doing 10 miles in an afternoon along the South West Coast Path in South Devon

I can recommend the walk along Hadrians Wall, especially the three day trek between the Newcastle to Hexham. Built as a result of the Bonny Prince Charlie’s attempt to take back the English Throne in 1745/6. The General leading the English Army up to Scotland realised that the Scots could bypass him on the West Coast so as soon as they had slaughtered the Scots at Culloden they used much of the stone from the Wall to create and East-West Road.
